Chad Kugler, President and General Manager – Chad joined the predecessor of BridgePoint Medical, Prospex Medical, at its inception in March 2005 as Vice President. He brings ten years of medical device start up experience and fourteen years of medical industry experience as an inventor, an engineer and an executive manager for both acutely used and implantable products. Prior to Prospex, Chad held a management position at Torax Medical where he was the primary inventor of their technology for acid reflux disease. Chad also worked for over five years as the Director of Research and Development at Teramed (aortic endovascular graft company acquired by Cordis 2001) where he was the primary inventor of the technology, directed a multidisciplinary development team through the rigors of product design, product development, clinical trials, and European commercialization. He has extensive domain knowledge in interventional cardiology starting his career as an engineer with SCIMED/Boston Scientific. Chad has 17 patents granted and numerous pending.

Michael Berman, Founder, Chairman - has extensive experience in the medical technology field as an entrepreneur (co-founder Velocimed, Benechill, Aetherworks I & II, Sage Medical), as an active investor and board member (CoAxia, Transoma, Myocor, Apnex, TopSpin, UltraShape), and in corporate management (former President, Boston Scientific CardioVascular).

Robert Atkinson, Founder, Patent Counsel - Bob co-founded Prospex Medical, Inc., the predecessor company of BridgePoint Medical. He is currently President of Apnex, which is developing a new therapy for obstructive sleep apnea. Prior to Apnex, Bob co-founded Aetherworks, Inc., which is developing a cardiac lead anchoring technology, and Aetherworks II, Inc., which is developing a smoking cessation technology. He also co-founded SpinaLabs, LLC, which developed and sold a patent portfolio on spinal repair technology. Bob has served as in-house patent counsel for several local medical device start-ups, and has worked as a patent attorney in private practice in Minneapolis, and in corporate practice at Boston Scientific. Prior to his legal practice, Bob was an engineer at SCIMED where he designed and developed devices for the interventional cardiology market. He has 16 issued patents, many pending cases, and has over 16 years of experience in the medical device field.
